Challenge
Our Austin workplaces, once fit for purpose, had fallen out of alignment with the demands of modern work. It became clear that a refresh was needed to address growing challenges, such as:
- Suboptimal employee experiences: Outdated technology and environments created friction, hindering employee satisfaction and productivity while offering little incentive for teams to engage in the office.
- Lack of actionable data insights: Without granular data on space utilization and employee preferences, strategic optimization of our office space was very difficult. Preventing us from truly enhancing collaboration, productivity, and efficiency.
- Inefficient space utilization: Under-utilized areas contributed to unnecessary capital expenditures and real estate spend. Because of the lack of data, we were failing to maximize the return on investment for our physical office footprint.
- Sustainability challenges: Manual controls for lighting, blinds, and HVAC systems proved inefficient and costly. This fell short of our corporate sustainability objectives and led to higher energy consumption.
