How to earn your CCIE Security certification
At the expert level, Cisco certifications focus on a balance between core knowledge and advanced practical skills, to prove you’re the best of the best in your field. To earn your certification, you’ll take a core exam and a lab exam. You’ll also earn a Specialist certification when you pass your core exam, so you can show off your unique skills to employers.
Pass the core exam
Pass 350-701 SCOR: Implementing and Operating Cisco Security Core Technologies to meet the core exam requirement for the CCIE Security certification. Passing this core exam automatically earns you the Cisco Certified Specialist - Security Core certification.
Exam overview
This exam tests your knowledge of implementing and operating core security technologies, including network, cloud, and content security, endpoint protection and detection, and more.

- Cost: US$400, or use Cisco Learning Credits
- Duration: 120 minutes
- Languages: English, Japanese
- Grading is pass/fail and results are available online within 48 hours
- This exam can be used toward recertification
